Atlantic Painting needed a new website… and they needed it NOW!

Atlantic Painting are a professional painting company providing a full painting service, from Gib-stopping to final coat. They have been in business since 1989. They only use the best painters and best products, project manage every job, and pride themselves on the quality of work.

The do-up

Mark, the owner, was aware a mate of his with another painting company and a good website was getting a lot of business from web traffic. Mark wanted the same for his business – and he wanted something up and running super-quick.

The trouble was, Atlantic’s branding and online presence needed more than just a lick of paint!

The web briefing

Given the short time-line, we knew we had to keep the website simple and kept it to five pages. New content could be added later if needed.

We met with Mark for a web briefing, planned the site with him and gathered the information from which we could write the content. Mark also met with our designer to discuss brand ID.

New Brand ID

The existing Atlantic logo was quite dated, with fonts and colours that were not cohesive. We wanted a logo that reflected the clean, clear, precise finish Atlantic customers could expect from an Atlantic paint job.

Our designer refreshed the logo and put together four concepts with modern fonts and lively colours that would ‘pop out’ on any background. We presented these to Mark, and a clear winner was chosen.

The final logo uses bold fonts on a solid dark blue background. The left leading edge features a dynamic element that represents the movement of a paint roller.

Web Content and Style

Web copy had to tell the story of Atlantic’s professional approach to every job they do, ticking off experience, reliability, project management and so on. Yet we didn’t want to come across as dull and boring (i.e. as exciting as watching paint dry!).

The resulting copy is conversational, light, and talks one-on-one with the reader about their upcoming painting project.

As residential and commercial projects require different approaches, we included easy-to-follow flow charts that walk the viewer through each step. A gallery, a link to No Cowboys reviews and contact section were also included.

The result? A sharp, modern brand ID and a slick, simple website that was just what Mark and Atlantic Painting wanted – and delivered within just two weeks.
